A VEGGIE PATCH, A WOODFIRE PIZZERIA, A WINEMAKER AND VIINO

1 EMILY ST, SEYMOUR VIC 3660

The Ubaldi family have owned and operated Somerset Crossing Vineyard since 1991. Somerset is now home to a range of small businesses such as Chloe and Cam's organic veggie farm Somerset Heritage Produce, The Vecchio's Wood fire pizzeria The Winery Kitchen, Nagambie based winemaker David Traeger, Somerset Crossing Wines and of course, Cinzia's brand VIINO.

THE VINES

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners & Custodians of the land on which we operate, the Wurundjeri & Taungurung people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past & present.

The Vineyard of this boutique family owned estate was established in 1969 on the rich alluvial banks of the Goulburn River.

The deep fertile top soil combined with the Central Victorian Mediterranean style temperate climate slowly ripens and infuses delicate varietal fruit flavours.

The Vines consist of 12 acres of 50 year old Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz and 30 year old Merlot and Chardonnay plantings.

The Wine making objective of our styles reflects the food and wine passions of the Italian Heritage of the owners biased towards lower alcohol, less oak, moderate ageing thus releasing and accentuating the delicate fresh classic varietal grape flavours. Intended to be enjoyed as easy drinking table wines and ideal accompaniments to family, friends, guests, food and fun.

The Boutique, small and unrestricted entrepreneurial nature of the estate allows us to indulge in a mix of modern techniques, traditional and ancestral handed down practises.
